Brilliant Sapphires is based at the source of one of the world's most exciting gem producing areas known as the gem paradise (Sri Lanka) we are in an enviable position to be able to select out the very best rough crystals as they come out of the mines. We at Brilliant Sapphires offer true beauty, rarity and value in all our gem stones. Our sapphires come in different colors: blue, pink, yellow, bl

ue star, violet, white and pink-orange (Padparasha). Apart from sapphires we also specialize in other varieties of gem stones such as Ruby’s, Alexandrite, Tsavorite as well as Emeralds. Our initiation began with founders of our company trading gems in the local market place making trips to Beruwela (a costal Srilankan village best known for gem trading) and Rathnapura (The most famous place in Srilanka for Gem mining). As their desire and passion for the trade grew so did their reputation for hard work and honesty. As all business men they too had the desire to explore the international gem markets, with visits to key cities across Asia and the United States they were able to build strong ties with the best international gem traders and jewelers. Their passion for fine Gem stones eventually led to the establishment of Brilliant Sapphires. We are a start to finish company! We begin from the ground up; paying attention to detail and carefully selecting out the best rough and semi finished crystals directly from the miners. We pride ourselves on being the best at what we do. Our well cared for island wide network helps us to purchase our gem stones directly from miner's ensuring our prices to be extremely competitive. Most importantly we ensure the true beauty, rarity and value in all our precious stones. Brilliant Sapphires is the trusted name for sapphires. Timely delivery, best after sales service and above all guaranty for quality created confidence in the minds of our valued customers. Fine gem stones is our passion not just our business.

Stone of the Month - February.

Amethyst,

The word amethyst comes from the Greek meaning "without drunkenness" and amethyst is believed to protect one from poison.

The gemstone believed by ancient Greeks and Romans to ward off the intoxicating powers of Bacchus, also is said to keep the wearer clear-headed and quick-witted. Throughout history, the gemstone has been associated with many myths, legends, religions, and numerous cultures. English regalia were even decorated with amethysts during the Middle Ages to symbolize royalty. Amethyst is a purple quartz, a beautiful blend of violet and red that can be found in every corner of the earth. Historically, the finest amethyst were found in Russia and were featured in much royal European jewelry.

Stone of the month : JANUARY

Garnet, the birthstone for January, signifies eternal friendship and trust and is the perfect gift for a friend. Garnet, derived from the word granatum, means seed, and is called so because of the gemstone’s resemblance to a pomegranate seed. References to the gemstone dates back to 3100 B.C., when the Egyptians used garnets as inlays jewellery.
