In the framework of the official visit of the President of Sri Lanka H.E. Maithreepala Sirisena to Germany, the Sri Lankan_ Germany Business Forum and the Introductory Business Luncheon between Germany and Sri Lanka officials and businessmen have held successfully on Feb 18, 2016 in Berlin, Germany.

The President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka H.E. Maithreepala Sirisena have attended in the Sri Lankan_ Germany Business Forum and made a speech; at the same time, his ministers from respected ministries provided answers to questions arisen from the business people from Germany during this event.

Elsewhere, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mangala Smaraweera, Minister of Finance Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Hon. Malik Samarawikrame Have made noticeable introductory presentations and speeches regarding the Investment Environment of Sri Lanka, the ongoing process and the further action plans, projects and programs to the business people of Germany

The Sri Lankan – Germany Business Forum was co-hosted with the The Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) which is a joint initiative of leading German business associations – the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV), the Federation of German Wholesale and Foreign Trade (BGA) and the Association of German Banks (Bankenverband)

The businessmen were very keen on the Germany_ Sri Lanka Business Partnership and they highlighted that the intensifying economic partnership between two countries will surely facilitate very fruitful investment and the trade opportunities in the coming future.

The Germany-Sri Lanka Business Broker formerly known as (Sri Lanka German Commercial Broker) was founded in 2015 to cater the growing needs of German business community interested in Sri Lanka market and vice versa. Since then it has been engaged in becoming a central instrument for the promotion and expansion of bilateral business relations between Germany and Sri Lanka.
