Cost effective architecture, extravagant architecture, the architect is lost when it’s come for positioning in him or herself. In the inception we are thought to cater to the Lower middle, middle & the upper class. As a universal theory there is enough scope and volume in first two income levels. e is an actor who is doing a jokers part, he will be never granted an opportunity for a serious role, in the industry the architect cannot be Omni present in all three segments though talented. Been my home town in a historical place like Matale, I want to serve low and middle class segments initially but not losing the strings of high end segment. Though the design is not compensated for the effort given, simply for the reason that still the clients has no big budget allocation for the design, as an architect I rejoice when the final drawing is done. Unfortunately there are no building contractors to develop, identify the architects desire in the creation is an extremely sad scenario. I was fortunate enough to cater to these three categories, my humble plea is, as clients, to give an opportunity to new architect without analyzing past experience. The confidence and opportunity granted will give birth to a master piece.
