SDWAN කියන්නේ මොකක්ද ?

ගොඩක් සරලව කිව්වොත්, SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) කියන්නේ ආයතනයක විවිධ ශාඛා (Branches) අතර දත්ත හුවමාරුව වඩාත් බුද්ධිමත් සහ කාර්යක්ෂම විදියට පාලනය කරන තාක්ෂණයක්.
සාමාන්‍ය සම්ප්‍රදායික Network එකකදී දත්ත ගමන් කරන්නේ කලින් නියම කරපු එකම මාර්ගයක වුණත්, SD-WAN වලදී ඒ පාලනය සිද්ධ වෙන්නේ Software එකක් මගින්.
මෙන්න SD-WAN එකකින් සිද්ධ වෙන ප්‍රධාන දේවල් කිහිපයක්:
1. පවතින සියලුම සම්බන්ධතා එකට භාවිත කිරීම
කලින් නම් ආයතන වලට ඉතා මිල අධික MPLS වැනි සම්බන්ධතා අවශ්‍ය වුණා. නමුත් SD-WAN හරහා ඔබට MPLS, සාමාන්‍ය Broadband (ADSL/Fiber), සහ 4G/5G වැනි සම්බන්ධතා කිහිපයක් එකවර භාවිතා කරන්න පුළුවන්.
2. දත්ත ගමන් කරන මාර්ගය බුද්ධිමත්ව තෝරා ගැනීම (Dynamic Path Selection)
SD-WAN මෘදුකාංගය මගින් සෑම මොහොතකම Network එකේ තත්ත්වය පරීක්ෂා කරනවා.
* උදාහරණයකට, ඔබ Zoom Call එකක් ගන්නවා නම්, එයට වැඩි වේගයක් සහ ස්ථාවරත්වයක් අවශ්‍ය නිසා ඒ දත්ත හොඳම මාර්ගයෙන් (Best path) යවනවා.
* වැදගත්කම අඩු දත්ත (උදා: File download) සාමාන්‍ය මාර්ගයකින් යවනවා.
3. වියදම අඩු වීම
මිල අධික විශේෂිත සම්බන්ධතා වෙනුවට සාමාන්‍ය අන්තර්ජාල සම්බන්ධතා කිහිපයක් එකතු කර හොඳ වේගයක් ලබාගත හැකි නිසා නෙට්වර්ක් නඩත්තු ගාස්තු සැළකිය යුතු ලෙස අඩු වෙනවා.
4. මධ්‍යගත පාලනය (Centralized Control)
ආයතනයට ශාඛා 100ක් තිබුණත්, ඒ හැම එකකම තියෙන රවුටර් (Routers) වෙන වෙනම සකස් කරන්න (Configure) අවශ්‍ය නැහැ. එක තැනක ඉඳන් මුළු නෙට්වර්ක් එකම පාලනය කරන්න පුළුවන්.
5. ආරක්ෂාව (Security)
බොහෝ SD-WAN පද්ධති වල දත්ත රහස්‍යව තබා ගැනීමට Encrypt කිරීමේ හැකියාව සහ Firewall පහසුකම් ඇතුළත්වම ලැබෙනවා.
කෙටියෙන් කිව්වොත්:
SD-WAN කියන්නේ පාරවල් කිහිපයක් තියෙන විට, වාහනයේ ස්වභාවය සහ පාරේ ට්‍රැෆික් එක බලලා ඉක්මනින්ම ගමනාන්තයට යන්න පාර පෙන්නන Google Maps වගේ තාක්ෂණයක් ඔබේ Network එකට ලැබීමයි.
