Electricity from Industrial Waste…..

Sunbird’s first batch of industrial waste was delivered to the Western Thermal Power Plant in Kerawalapitiya today (21-08-2026) for electricity generation.

As per our buy-back policy, around one ton of polyurethane, which was recovered from the recycling of old Sunbird hot water systems that were no longer usable, was delivered to generate heat to generate electricity.

Without proper procedures for the disposal of used polyurethane, when burned, it releases carbon monoxide, a highly toxic and carcinogenic gas, into the environment.

Sunbird, which always supports environmentally friendly activities, is interested in the proper disposal of industrial waste at a certain cost.

Sunbird ආයතනයේ පලමු කාර්මීක අපද්‍රව්‍ය තොගය කෙරවලපිටියේ පිහිටි Western Thermal Power Plant වෙත විදුලිය නිපදවීම සඳහා ගෙන ගොස් භාරදීම අද (21-08-2026) සිදුවිය.

මෙහිදී අපගේ නැවත මිලදී ගැනීමේ ප්‍රතිපත්තියට අනුව පාවිච්චිකල නොහැකි තත්වයේ තිබු පැරණි Sunbird උණුදිය පද්ධති ප්‍රතිචක්‍රීය කිරීමෙන් ඉවත්වන පොලියුරතීන් ටොන් එකක් පමන විදුලිය නිපදවීමට තාපය ජනනය කිරීමට භාර දෙන ලදී.

පාවිච්චි කල පොලියුරතීන් නිෂ්කාශනය සඳහා නිසි ක්‍රියා දාමයක් නොමැතිව ගිනිතැබීමෙන් ඉතා විෂ සහිත පිලිකා කාරක වායුවක් වන කාබන් මොනොක්සයිඩ් පරිසරයට නිකුත්වේ.

This 30+ year old Sunbird Solar Hotwater system original model 57th product was gifted to us by one our oldest customers Mr Pubudu Wickrama of Wijaya Kumarathunge Road, Polhengoda Colombo 05 which was originally installed on 1996-02-12…

In the early days, we produced only 3-4 of these systems per month. (Now we produce between 200-250 units per month)

After producing the first 100 systems, we had to stop producing this model and switch to a new model….
# The difficulty in finding raw materials for the relevant model,
# The increase in the time it takes to produce the systems,
Because of the inability to produce units to meet the increasing demand..

The relevant label makes it clear that this system is the 57th product of that model.

Our first business venture began by selling the 3 systems we first produced to Dankotuwa Porcelain in 1989 July

We are pleased to announce that this unit model, which was built to be very robust and durable, is still in operation with some customers.

We hope to compile a data of such customers and appreciate them for the upcoming 40th anniversary of our company.

මෙම වසර 30කට වඩා පැරණි Sunbird සූර්ය බල උණු දිය පද්ධති මාදිලියේ මුල්ම කාණ්ඩයේ 57වන නිපැයුම නව පද්ධතියක් මිලදී ගත් කොළඹ 5, පොල්හේන්ගොඩ, විජය කුමාරතුංග මාවතේ, පුබුදු වික්‍රම මහතා විසිත් අපට තෑගි කර තිබුනි. මෙය මුල් වරට එම ස්ථානයේ සවි කර තිබුනේ 1996-02-12 දිනය.

මෙම පද්ධතියෙන් මසකට 3 - 4ක් පමණ මුල් දිනවල අප විසින් නිෂ්පාදනය කරන ලදී. (දැන් අපි මසකට පද්ධති 200-250 අතර ප්‍රමාණයක් නිපදවමු)

පලමු පද්ධති 100 නිපදවීමෙන් පසුව මෙම මාදිලිය තවදුරටත් නිපදවීම නතරකර නව මාදිලියකට යොමු වීමට සිදුවුයේ….
# අදාල මාදිලිය සඳහා අමුද්‍රව්‍ය සොයාගැනීමට ඇති අපහසුව,
# පද්ධති නිපදවීමට යන කාලය වැඩිවීම,
යන කරුණු නිසා වැඩිවන ඉල්ලුමට සරිලනසේ පද්ධති නිපදවාගැනීමට නොහැකිවීම නිසාය..

එම මාදිලියෙන් මෙම පද්ධතිය 57වන නිපැයුම බව අදාල ලේබලයෙන් පැහැදිලි වේ.

අප මුලින්ම නිෂ්පාදනය කල පද්ධති 3ක් දංකොටුව පෝර්සිලේන් ආයතනයට 1989 වසරේ ජුලි මාසයේදී අලෙවි කිරීමෙන් අපගේ පලමු ව්‍යාපාරික කර්තව්‍ය ඇරඹින.

ඉතාමත් ශක්තිමත්ව කල්පවතින සේ නිපදවන ලද මෙම පද්ධති මාදිලිය සමහර පාරිබෝගික මහතුන් ලඟ තවමත් ක්‍රියාකාරී තත්වයේ ඇතිබව සතුටින් ප්‍රකාශ කරමු.
