Transforming Sri Lanka’s Landscapes into Global Hubs: The High Altitude Coffee Initiative

​We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the journey toward establishing High Altitude Coffee Villages across Sri Lanka. On April 4th, 2026, a ceremonial coffee plant distribution program was successfully held at the Blackpool Community Hall, marking a new chapter for premium local cultivation.

​This initiative is a powerful collaboration between the V Can Foundation (Guarantee) Limited and Coffee Exploration Technologies Corporation (Pvt) Ltd / Blackpool Coffee, driven by a shared vision to position Sri Lankan specialty coffee on the global map.

​🏛️ Bridging Finance and Agriculture

​We were honored to have Mr. Lasantha Fernando, Chairman of the Regional Development Bank (RDB), as our Chief Guest. His presence underscored the vital link between financial empowerment and rural economic revival. Mr. Fernando highlighted how strategic investments in specialty crops grown at elevation can create sustainable livelihoods and strengthen our national economy.

​This isn't just about planting trees, it’s about:

• ​Economic Empowerment: Creating a "High Altitude Village" model that turns local growers into premium tier entrepreneurs.
