This World Water day on March 22nd 2026, let's take a moment to reflect on the amount of water we use daily in addition to direct water consumption and use. Water is in the clothes you buy. Take for instance how much water is used by cotton, a very high water use crop. It is also unfortunately in new tech transformasions such as AI due to the amount of water needed to produce electricity and cool data centres. Looking back at the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah, it’s heartbreaking to remember what Sri Lanka endured just a few months ago.
In the face of these challenges, TEG stepped forward to support the communities around us, both during the crisis and in the weeks that followed.

Our collective efforts included:
• Cleaning of community wells to restore access to clean water
• Distributing dry food packages and meal packs
• Providing financial support for our team, suppliers & nearby communities
• Supporting children within the affected regions of Malwana and Ambalangala with school essentials for the new school year
• Clothes collected from all TEG facilities and distributed to underserved families

At TEG, we remain commitment to supporting our communities; both internal and external. As difficult as the situation was, it was inspiring to see Sri Lankans come together in an incredible display of unity and shared humanity.

Another successful year for our annual book donation! We were proud to provide school supplies to the children of our team members across TEG as they embark on their new school year.

This project is a cornerstone of our calendar and reflects our deep-rooted commitment to supporting our community. Just like our many other initiatives, we believe that investing in the next generation’s education is an investment in our collective future.

TEG Wins Big at the NCPC Environment Awards 2025! 🌱

We’re proud to announce that Growrite Substrates secured the Gold Award and Tropicoir Lanka earned the Silver Award in the Waste Sector under Manufacturing – Large Category at the National Cleaner Production Awards 2025.

This achievement comes after one of the most rigorous application processes we’ve faced, making this recognition even more meaningful.
