මේ වන විට ලංකාවේ පසු අස්වනු හානිය 30%- 40% ඉක්මවා පවතින අතර පවත්නා අර්බුදකාරී තත්වයන් යටතේ මෙම ප්රමාණය ආහාර සුරක්ෂිතාවය කෙරෙහි සැලකියයුතු බලපැමක් ඇති කරයි. තවද ආහාර සැකසිමේ ගෘහස්ථ මට්ටමේ තාක්ෂණය මේ වන විට දිරිගැන්විම ජාතික අවශ්යතාවක් ලෙස ස්මතුවී පවති.

Under the current conditions of the country, it is important to increase the food production as well as improve the domestic industries based on agriculture.
At present, the post-harvest loss in Sri Lanka is over 30%-40% and under the current crisis conditions, this amount has a significant impact on food security. Also, the promotion of domestic level technology in food processing is now recognized as a national interest.
During this period, jackfruits, jackfruit seeds, mangoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, kohila, palm, and other crops that are more common are being discarded in the market. Attitudinal changes of the people of the country are also developing positively and are rapidly tending towards a food pattern based on locality.
The need for rural women in particular to be economically strong is being understood more than ever before. Considering the above facts, we created a dehydrator suitable for domestic use as a new design.

The above machines can be used from household level to starting self-employment and leaves like drumsticks, curry leaves, kathurmurunga and fruits like pineapple, banana, papaya, waraka and dates, mushrooms, gourds, bandakka can be easily dried.
