Driving Innovation in Kenya’s Tea Manufacturing

The CEO of the Tea Board of Kenya, W***y K Mutai , today held discussions with Daniel Wang on adoption of advanced tea color sorter technology by Kenya tea manufacturers.
Tea color sorters use optical sensors and AI technology to detect and remove discolored particles, impurities and defects during tea processing, helping factories achieve greater precision, consistency and premium quality production.
The technology presents significant opportunities for Kenya tea factories through improved product quality, enhanced value addition, reduced losses, compliance with international market standards and increased competitiveness for Kenya Tea in global markets.
The engagement supports ongoing efforts to modernize Kenya’s tea manufacturing sector and respond to growing global demand for high-quality and value-added teas.
Anhui Jiexun Optoelectronic Technology Co. Ltd will exhibit the technology during the International Tea Day 2026 Expo on 21st May 2026 at Momul Tea Factory.
