Steel Structural Design – ODEL Mall, (MCC) Kandy......

Steel structural design for the Proposed Gym at the roof top of "ODEL Mall", Kandy, were successfully delivered by Damitha Abeykoon Chartered Engineers (DACE).

The project is currently at the final stage of construction.

During the design phase, special engineering challenges were addressed, particularly the requirement to install steel structural members without damaging the existing reinforced concrete slab. Conventional anchoring solutions were not feasible, as drilling or anchor bolts could compromise the slab waterproofing system.
Embracing this challenge, DACE provided innovative, practical, and sustainable structural solutions, ensuring:

💧 Water Safety Audits – 2025 💧

Ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water remains a critical responsibility.
In 2025, Eng. Damitha Abeykoon, Founder & Principal Consultant of "DACE" had the honor of conducting the Water Safety Audit for the Gallella Water Supply Scheme, Polonnaruwa and Puthukkudiyirupu WSS, Mulativu, representing the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) as one of their youngest Water Safety Auditors.
The Water Safety Plan (WSP) audit was carried out on the 21st and 22nd of August 2025 for the Gallella and 20th and 21st of November 2025 for the Puthukkudiyirruppu WSS.

He was privileged to work alongside Mr. PKW Silva, Senior Sociologist, who served as the Lead Auditor, while he contributed as the Technical Auditor.
It was a great privilege to serve the public of the Polonnaruwa and Mulativu area through this important work.
We sincerely appreciate the dedication and hard work of the Polonnaruwa and Mulativu teams at the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB). Their commitment to providing uninterrupted 24/7 water supply to the community is truly commendable.
