In Loving Memory of Mr. Matthew Henry

With heavy hearts💔😥, the Office of Hon. James M. Kolleh bows in grief last evening as we lay to rest our brother, colleague, and son of the soil, Mr. Matthew Henry of Gbenekoleh Town.

On Saturday, August 1, 2026, we gathered at Henry Town, behind Gbenekoleh, to bid farewell to a man who served with quiet dedication and love. The air was filled with tears, prayers, and the sound of mourning, as family, friends, staffers, and members of Team Kolleh stood together one last time to honor him.

Mr. Matthew Henry was more than a staff member. He was a brother in service. He carried out his duties with humility.

As Rep. James M. Kolleh, the entire office staffers, and Team Kolleh stood in full representation, we were reminded that “We serve with love, and we mourn with love.”

May his soul find eternal rest.
May his family find strength.
And may his memory continue to inspire us to serve our people with the same love he showed.

Rest well, Matthew. Jorquelleh District #2 will not forget you.

The Office of Rep. James M. Kolleh, Representative of Jorquelleh District #2, B**g County, wishes to inform the general public, family, friends, and well-wishers of the burial arrangements for our late staff member, Mr. Matthew Henry of Gbenekoleh Town.

Burial Date: SATURDAY, August 1, 2026
Burial Venue: HENRY TOWN, behind Gbenekolah Town, Kokoyah District #1, B**g County

MOBILIZATION ARRANGEMENTS:

1. Gbarnga-based Staffers:
All staffers in Gbarnga are kindly asked to assemble at Gate One, Kokoyah, Gbarnga by 10:00 AM on FRIDAY July 31, 2026. The Office of Rep. Kolleh will depart from there together.

2. District-based Staffers and Team Kolleh Members:
All other office STAFFERS and members of Team Kolleh within the district are requested to make their way to Gbenekoleh Town on Friday, July 31, 2026 to receive and wait for the team coming from Gbarnga.

The Office of Rep. Kolleh will be there in full representation, including Rep. Kolleh himself, all office staffers, and members of Team Kolleh to accord our fallen brother a befitting farewell.

This is to encourage all to turn out and support the bereaved family during this difficult time.

Gone Too Soon, Never Forgotten.😭

With heavy hearts, the Office of Rep. James M. Kolleh announced that our brother and one of our office staff Matthew Henry has gone to be with the Lord after a brief illness.😭😭

Matthew lived with integrity, served with joy, and loved well.

Though we grieve, we find comfort knowing he is now at peace.

Rep. Kolleh Calls for Legislative Probe into Release of Alleged Drug Trafficking Suspect

GBARNGA, B**G COUNTY — Jorquelleh District #2 Representative, Hon. James M. Kolleh, has called on the House of Representatives to launch a full legislative investigation into the release of Wilmot Kpehe, an alleged drug trafficking suspect arrested in 2024 and previously detained at the Margibi County Prison.

Rep. Kolleh is urging Plenary to examine the circumstances of Mr. Kpehe’s release, including the role of Circuit Court Judge Siafa Carrey who granted a medical release. He is also requesting that the House summon the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, the Superintendent of Margibi County Prison, and other relevant officials to clarify the legal basis for the release and confirm if due process was followed.

The B**g County Lawmaker warned that any irregularities in the matter could erode public trust in Liberia’s justice system and weaken efforts against drug trafficking and organized crime.

Rep. Kolleh emphasized that no one is above the law and called for transparency, accountability, and strict adherence to the rule of law.

Rep. James M. Kolleh Addresses Landmark’s Foundation K2 Graduation, Announces Tuition Aid and Donates Learning Materials

GBARNGA, B**G COUNTY — On Friday, July 3, 2026, Hon. James M. Kolleh served as Guest Speaker during the closing program and K2 graduation of Landmark’s Foundation in the New YMCA Community, Jorquelleh District #2, B**g County.

Rep. Kolleh urged parents to prioritize investing in their children’s education, calling it the best foundation for the future.

On behalf of himself and his political father, Hon. Edward W. Karfiah, Rep. Kolleh donated 10 white boards, 600 white board markers, and 10 white board dusters to the school. He further announced that all 18 K2 graduates will benefit from his tuition aid for the next academic year.

Rep. Kolleh also acknowledged that his entire political journey and service to date have been made possible through the mentorship and guidance of Hon. Edward W. Karfiah.

On behalf of himself and Hon. Edward W. Karfiah, Rep. Kolleh announced full scholarships for all 49 students in the graduating class of Royal Academy School, Gbarnga.

The Plenary of the House of Representatives has summoned the leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA) to appear before lawmakers on Thursday following concerns raised regarding sanitation and management conditions across markets in Liberia.

The decision followed a communication submitted by B**g County Electoral District #2 Representative, Hon. James M. Kolleh, requesting the appearance of the leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association to address what he described as deteriorating conditions in markets across the country.

In his communication, Representative Kolleh expressed concerns over what he termed poor market management and sanitation practices despite regular fees and payments collected from marketers nationwide.

According to the lawmaker, many markets continue to face serious sanitation challenges, including accumulated waste, poor upkeep, and unhealthy environmental conditions affecting marketers and consumers alike.

Representative Kolleh noted that many of the individuals operating within these markets are low-income Liberians struggling to earn a living and should not be forced to conduct business in conditions that may expose them and their families to health risks.

He further argued that despite the Liberia Marketing Association's revenue collection activities, responsibility for handling waste and sanitation concerns often falls on municipal authorities, placing additional burdens on local governments.

The lawmaker specifically cited city authorities, including those in Paynesville, as entities frequently left to manage waste disposal and sanitation challenges that, according to him, should primarily fall within the responsibilities of market authorities.

Representative Kolleh emphasized that institutions entrusted with market administration should assume greater responsibility in ensuring clean, safe, and properly managed environments for marketers and the public.

Following deliberations, plenary agreed to summon the leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association to appear before lawmakers on Thursday to provide explanations and address concerns raised regarding market management and sanitation conditions.

The House of Representatives continues to reaffirm its commitment to exercising oversight responsibilities aimed at improving public welfare and ensuring accountability within institutions serving the Liberian people.
