The foods we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from nature. For instance, each year, marine plants produce more than a half of our atmosphere's oxygen, and a mature tree cleans our air, absorbing 22 kilos of carbon dioxide, releasing oxygen in exchange. Despite all the benefits that our nature give us, we still mistreat it.

Every year June 5, we celebrate it as World Environmental day. This year, the theme is biodiversity – a concern that is both urgent and existential. Recent events, from bushfires in Brazil, the United States, and Australia to locust infestations across East Africa – and now, a global disease pandemic – demonstrate the interdependence of humans and the webs of life, in which they exist.

Biodiversity and its connection to humans
Biodiversity is the foundation that supports all life on land and below water. It affects every aspect of human health, providing clean air and water, nutritious foods, scientific understanding and medicine sources, natural disease resistance, and climate change mitigation. Changing, or removing one element of this web affects the entire life system and can produce negative consequences.

Human actions, including deforestation, encroachment on wildlife habitats, intensified agriculture, and acceleration of climate change, have pushed nature beyond its limit. It would take 1.6 Earths to meet the demands that humans make of nature each year. If we continue on this path, biodiversity loss will have severe implications for humanity, including the collapse of food and health systems.

The emergence of COVID-19 has underscored the fact that, when we destroy biodiversity, we destroy the system that supports human life. Today, it is estimated that, globally, about one billion cases of illness and millions of deaths occur every year from diseases caused by coronaviruses; and about 75 per cent of all emerging infectious diseases in humans are zoonotic, meaning that they are transmitted to people by animals.

Did you know? Biodiversity involves 8 million plant and animal species, the ecosystems that host them, and the genetic diversity among them. in the last 150 years, the live coral reef cover has been reduced by half.
Within the next 10 years, one out of every four known species may have been wiped off the planet. It's a huge need that we protect it.

It's our pleasure to let you know that PVI is taking the corona virus pandemic extremely seriously since WHO declared the virus as a global health emergency issues we have instructed all of our staff to stay very safe during working hours and why home in their verious communities. Moreover they should help safe other lives by educating them on symtons of the virus and spreading prevented methods on how to keep safe and make sure they take all the advised precautions.

We have acted swiftly on this, not only to protect our staff, but also the vulnerable people outside the organisation who might be at risk from the spread of the virus. It is crucial that people work together in such crises, ensuring the safety of others, and we are more than prepared to do our part.

We will continue to fight just as hard as ever for environmental justice for all simply because we think the best wealth any individual can obtain in life for his/himself is good health, both for the poor and rich equally.

Wishing you and yours all the best,

Climate change is a significant "hunger-risk multiplier " and a fundamental threat to global food security. It affects all four dimensions of food security : availability, access, stability, and utilization of food. With climate change, the population living in poverty could increase by 35 and 122 million by 2023 compared to a future without climate change, largely due to negative effects on household incomes from agricultural. It now time Liberia adapt short-term, long-term and medium-term plans that will help us grow more food locally to eradicate hunger, malnutrition and poverty in Liberia and also export food to others African and western nations to gain economic value in return.

Now more than ever, Liberia need us to step up and take action towards cleaning up many of the messes we have made through irresponsibility. Whether it be from oil spills, air pollution, plastics, or toxic chemicals leaking into our water, there is still a lot that must be done to bring our ecosystem back into balance. Prompt Ventures Inc, say it's time to protect what matters # and save Liberia!!!

Oftentimes it is said, that work without play makes Jack a dull boy. That said, we at Prompt Ventures Incorporated (PVI), remain profoundly proud and grateful to have engaged our friends of Taking the Agenda to the people (Pro-poor Agenda), or TAP for short, in a friendly encounter of soccer and kickball matches, played in the city of Paynesville. Although, we PVI won both matches, wherein, our kickball team defeated TAP with 15 - 5 homeruns, and our soccer games ended to a 3 - 0 win for our side, we say everyone was a winner. We want to thank scorers Lucas who scored the first and third goals in the 53rd and 75th minutes of the game, while remembering player Mike who scored the second goal. Thanks also to goalkeeper Zick Debah for the splendid saves during the game, which brought our side victory!
Hooray!!!
