We held a fruitful forum on the theme "Building Our Shared Future: Intergenerational Action for Climate & Environmental Justice."

​Climate change affects every corner of our communities, but its impacts are not felt equally. True environmental justice requires that the solutions come directly from those who live these realities every day, spanning every generation and walk of life.

It was a great interactive session today with the people from the Kpatawee Clan on climate and gender justice. It starts by making local gender roles visible, moves through naming how the climate crisis presses harder on women and girls, defines climate justice and gender justice in the community's own terms, and ends with participants drafting a first local action plan rather than simply hearing a presentation about one.

A big thank you to the Fund for Global Human Rights through the Legal Empowerment Fund for the immense support and to the GGL team for the job well done.

Through the Legal Empowerment Fund, in collaboration with the Children and Youth Rights Program at the Fund for Global Human Rights, Green Growth Liberia has launched an exciting initiative to enhance youth-led climate justice efforts across select African nations.

In this light, Green Growth Liberia held a three-day Community Engagement and Awareness event in the Kpatawee Clan, aimed at community members to foster educational initiatives centered on environmental and climate justice.

The engagement also served to inform and update local communities about the initiatives of Green Growth Liberia (GGL), while promoting shared responsibility for environmental stewardship and motivating a new generation of climate champions within rural communities.
