Dear piggery farmers
Why should one consider cross breeding over inbreeding?
Inbreeding occurs between very closely related animals e.g full siblings,mother-to-son or father to daughter.
Inbreeding often results in weak and small piglets ,a small number of piglets born(litter size),high mortality rate(li a shoa) or disorders (bokooa)
Cross breeding occurs between two different breeds of pigs e.g Hampshire and Duroc.
Offsprings are different from either parent and results in offsprings perforiming better than both parents, high litter size ,high production, and many more.
