The importance of a loyal and dedicated team.
I was recently approached by a property developer to join forces with two young architects in Lesotho to develop and present a project proposal plan with a view of acquiring a site and develop the same for commercial purposes. We were literally given a week to do the concept plans taking due cognizance of traffic flows, an active stream, human and environmental issues, security, catering for SME's and the disabled amongst other things.
With the time constraints, a lot of midnight oil was burnt and the entire proposal was completed an hour before the scheduled presentation time. The team spirit and dedication developed during this short period of time was such that everyone on the project team would sacrifice their own "private time" with a view of putting the package together and be an understudy for the other team members in the event of an unfortunate mishap.
The presentation was done, the numerous questions posed were answered comprehensively and the adjudication panel seemed satisfied and impressed. We shall know the end result by the end of next week but it is the considered view of all involved that we did ace it.
On this note I wish to thank both Thabo and Morris for their commitment, dedication and effort; you guys did well and I am both appreciative and proud of your effort, dedication, flexibility and loyalty. I'm proud to have young professionals of your calibre on my team and it is both my wish and belief that we shall do numerous projects together in the short and medium term.
I thank you.
