Job title: Assistant Head Chef
Reports to: Head Chef
Job Objective:
The assistant head chef assists in managing daily operations in the kitchen. He/she oversees and manages stock levels as well as supervises kitchen staff during shifts. He/she oversees the food preparation process. He/ she ensures that appropriate standards and hygiene are adhered to. He/she manages staff scheduling.
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Apply food safety management systems for food service establishments.
2. Conduct food hygiene audit.
3. Manage operations for service excellence.
4. Manage quality system and processes.
5. Master recipes from various cuisines.
6. Supervise food production
Competencies:
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently.
• Ability to pick up detailed instructions quickly and follow them closely.
Qualification and experience:
• Diploma in culinary arts or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in supervisory role.
• Sound knowledge of labour laws will be an added advantage.

Reports to: Chef
Duties and responsibilities:
1. Supporting chef in a specific work section.
2. Washing, peeling and preparing food items.
3. Washing kitchen appliances, work surface b b b and floor.
4. Creating, testing and evaluating new pastry and dessert recipes.
Competencies:
• Ability to carry out tasks quickly and competently.
• Ability to pick up detailed instructions quickly and follow them closely.
