Folk wisdom says:

"You can paint a stretch ceiling but not every" ☝🏻

❎ For example, the standart film ceiling cannot be painted.
A solvent-based product will be destroy the material.
Water-based formulations will also play a cruel joke. They stretch the film and make "sag" the canvas.

✅ But the fabric stretch ceiling can be painted.
With the correct selection of the coloring agent, the material does not sag.

🖌 For painting a fabric stretch ceiling, it is recommended to choose a water-based composition.
Latex acrylic paint is commonly used.
Do you prefer water emulsion? Choose a good quality formulation with high hiding power.

Compositions based on nitrocellulose or organic solvents are too aggressive and destroy the material.

🌈 Want to colorize your ceiling? Tint white paint in certain proportions with a special pigment - tint paste.

Flooding of stretch ceilings by neighbors up above is a common nuisance 😬

The ceiling canvas is stretched, then a container with water is formed in a certain place.

💧 With light flooding, the fastest and most painless option is to drain without removal.
Remove the chandelier and drain the water through the holes in the canvas.
Finally, dry the ceiling to restore its original shape.

💦 If the ceiling is stretched and sagged to the middle of the room in height or if the water is very dirty, it must be dismantled, drained, cleaned, allowed to dry, put in place, and then dried to its original shape.

🌬 It is recommended to dry the tensioning structure with a special device - heat drying.

⚠ Do not try to turn on the light until you are sure that the wires and related items are dry.

The likelihood of water getting on wallpaper, furniture, floor is minimal.

When is it better not to install stretch ceilings?

👉 The manufacturer doesn't advise installing stretch ceilings in rooms with low temperatures.

Although‼ ️

Practice shows that many structures can withstand temperatures up to minus 10 degrees.

❄️ If the room is very cold, the ceiling may crack. A blow, draft or gust of wind is enough.

🔥 If the room is very hot, the ceiling loses its elasticity and sags. That is why stretch ceilings are not installed in saunas.

The first thing that suffers at very high and low temperatures is the stitch. This is the weakest point in the ceiling.

P.S. If in the room there is temperature problems, opt for fabric ceilings.

🔵 If you do not take into account external factors (margin, price, time, volume of work), the use of an ALU profile would be a reliable solution.
But it is more expensive, heavier and requires individual solutions in each specific case.

🔹 For example, a quick cosmetic repair with savings on everything justifies the use of a PVC profile.

🔹 And for the renovation of a high-quality room with expensive materials and modern design, the ALU profile fits best.
