Along with eBay’s Q4 results, we have the full year results. Interesting facts for me:

1. eBay has been growing sales (GMV) for three
quarters in a row;

2. eBay’s focus categories’ GMV grew by 5%. This chosen
strategy is working. If anyone has any questions about what those focus categories are, leave a comment and we’ll explain.

3. The number of active buyers has grown again. It now reaches 134 million.

4. eBay’s total GMV in 2024 is $74.7 billion.

5. Export markets’ GMV (India, Southeast Asia and HIPO) in 2024 was a record $1.5 billion. This is just 2 percent of eBay’s total GMV. This should give everyone a good idea of ​​the priority given to the specific ‘pains’ of our markets, when it comes to allocating funds to implement certain changes. And that's completely fair enough. If anyone has any questions about what these export markets are, leave a comment and we'll explain.

Even though we live in the information age, unreliable sources are a huge problem when determining which information is both accurate and valuable.

To provide more clarity, we’re sharing the myths we encountered about the eBay platform.

👉Myth 1:
eBay has no fulfilment centres. This statement couldn’t be more wrong – even though eBay’s fulfilment centres aren’t as developed as ’’Amazon’s,’’ both operate similarly.

👉Myth 2:
eBay is unfit for trade development due to high competition and ’’cheap’’ buyers. Even though many buyers on ’’eBay’’ prefer low prices and auctions, there are many more ways to compete on the platform than just the price.
