VER Play Rug, 2026.

Designed as part of my ongoing personal tradition of creating one meaningful object each year for my daughter’s birthday, this piece takes the form of a play rug VER. Its structure and pattern precisely trace the floor plan of our countryside house, including the placement of key interior elements. Built by her grandfather, the house is where we spend our summers and is a special place for us all.

Reimagined as a tactile landscape, the rug becomes a setting for play – inviting figures and invented scenarios to move through familiar rooms. VER holds a double reference: a new version of play, and the initials of the lake beside the house. Woven by a traditional rug maker, it carries the subtle charm of hand-drawn irregularities, with an extended form on one side marking the steps leading to the terrace.

Made in short-pile yarn with a 50% wool blend, selected for its balanced durability, softness, and hypoallergenic qualities. Woven by Domunique Rugs.

VIRO Lamp, 2026

VIRO was created from a simple domestic need – to introduce an emotional source of light into the home. Placed on the living room windowsill, it casts soft, layered shadows and a gentle glow that echoes the presence of daylight entering through a window, especially during the early darkness of winter. Designed to lean against the wall on a windowsill, yet easily movable or suspendable if needed.

The form originates from an extended circular geometry. Its subtle widening on one side emerged unintentionally during the making process. Each strip of birch veneer was cut, bent and fixed by hand, and the impossibility of maintaining perfect continuity became a defining quality rather than a flaw.

The layered structure is locally reinforced with silver-tone metal fittings, while the cable carries a natural jute texture. Unlike many of my objects produced by manufacturers, this piece was entirely hand-made over six weeks – a slow, meditative process and a grounding practice.

Birch veneer, silver-tone metal fittings, 650 × 280 mm. More @ www.barboraadamonyte.com

As the year draws to a close, the OMM bed I designed for LONAS is finally seeing the light of day and reaching LONAS stores.

I am deeply grateful to Jakutis and the entire team for this opportunity.✨

OMM in brief:
Within the bed’s structure, layers of wood and textile repeat: the footboard gently rests on its supports, while pillow-like elements softly embrace the headboard. The form remains clear and confident - straight lines contrasted by the softness of fabric details. No excess. Only a calm rhythm, as if the design itself were quietly humming “OMM”.
