SME access to capital varies in quality and quantity. Financial intermediaries (e.g. banks, finance companies, investment funds) are often reluctant to invest in SMEs because of real or perceived lack of business skills, documented track records, financial statements and/or collateral. As access to finance for SMEs remains a challenge, Meso seeks to know in which financial intermediaries (FI) it would be relevant to bring more capital in order to both - increase the amount of lending to SMEs and - alongside responsible practices (responsible lending versus commercial lending).
