Wind turbines don't just need to be installed. They need to be maintained, monitored, and cared for throughout their lifetime.

This year, two MDWind teams are working on 176 Nordex turbines across four wind farms in Sweden and Norway, helping ensure these assets continue to deliver clean energy for years to come.
From demanding weather conditions to complex technical interventions, our technicians continue to bring their expertise, flexibility, and commitment to quality to every site

The project has also given several Back Office colleagues and members of MDWind's leadership team the opportunity to visit the sites in Scandinavia, thank the teams for their outstanding work and spend time with them. These visits help strengthen the connection between office and field operations while providing a deeper understanding of the challenges our technicians face every day, often in demanding weather conditions.

A huge 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 to everyone involved, both in the field and behind the scenes, and to our customer for their trust and excellent cooperation throughout the project. 👏

Recently, we completed the dismantling of a heavily fire-damaged wind turbine.

Before dismantling could be considered, the turbine had to be secured, unstable components stabilized, and safe access re-established. With critical lifting points destroyed by the fire, every step required detailed engineering assessment and careful planning.

One of the most challenging phases was repositioning the nacelle, rotor, and blade pitch to prepare the turbine for dismantling. 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. ⚙️

A big thank you to our customer, to crane company Dartus Levage, our engineering team, and all colleagues on site. The successful completion of this project reflects the experience, flexibility, and problem-solving mindset that complex recovery operations demand.

This project marked MDWind’s first dismantling of this turbine type, providing a valuable opportunity to expand our technical expertise.

Working on a demanding platform required tight coordination and a rigorous approach from start to finish. Crane operations were expertly handled by Sarens, ensuring safe and efficient lifting throughout the intervention.

🤝 A sincere thank you to Eneco Belgium for the strong collaboration and continuous support.

Great 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 all around made this intervention a success. 💪
