If we were to re-cap on a last week’ s events it would be a good reason to celebrate, because the Officelab Baltic launched its first video about importance of the well-planned artificial lighting at an office, then we posted the Easy-Friday video – to share with the audience the variety of the waste sorting solutions and last, but not least we had very good and insightful discussion with our clients and partners.🥳🥳🥳
Apart from that we All would have another reason to celebrate – one would ask what, why, when? it’s the 1st of March – the first month of Spring. 🎋
The spring is in the air! (Even though we all have survived the snowstorm and 20m/s winds yesterday in Riga and its surroundings🌨). With that subject on mind, what would be important to do at an office? Your office space?
Yes – you’re right, it’s the cleaning! Why clean, why now? Because after the autumn-winter season there is a lot of dust (also salt particles from streets) accumulated in the carpets, walls, cabinets – the dust is everywhere, so, hard times are coming for those who suffer from the allergies at the office and not only indoors, but also outdoors.
What should one take into consideration in regard to office cleaning in spring?
Here are 3 suggestions from the OfficeLAB that you may wish taking into actions:
📌Schedule a deep cleaning and disinfect high-touch surfaces. This normally would include: deep cleaning tasks like carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and window washing; as well as cleaning of the doorknobs, light switches and keyboards (if those are shared) at your office.
📌📌Encourage employees to declutter and organize: Get rid of unnecessary items and reorganize your workspace to make it more functional and efficient. This can help boost productivity and reduce stress in the workplace.
📌📌📌Clean air vents and filters - addressed an inquiry to your Landlord: Over time, air vents and filters can become clogged with dust and other debris. This can lead to poor indoor air quality, which can negatively impact the health and productivity of your employees. Make sure to clean air vents and replace air filters regularly to maintain good air quality in your office.

📍 Wrap-up of the week 📍
This week, the Officelab Baltic had connected the GroupFuturista webinar "The future of digital workplace". The webinar connected the experts and professionals within the Human resources, Change Management, Information technologies, Facilities Management and other business areas involved into the workplace matters.
The speakers brought many valuable insights from various angles and their experience perspective, so, to cut it short the future of a workplace involves:
💡 Change
💡 Transformation
💡 Innovation
OfficeLAB Baltic acknowledges that It’s only human to be cautious about a change, but only through a challenge and transformation humans can achieve a new level of innovation. "We have always done it like that" behaviour should be reconsidered, and new creative mindset embedded into people’s and organization’s culture. The change is for good – we, at Officelab Baltic believe in that!
If you’ve missed the webinar a record should be available sometime soon, but for now, here are some takeaways from the webinar OfficeLAB would like to share with all our followers and readers:
1. If change happens, the management needs to understand what kind of behaviours are expected? What should we stop doing now? ‘Behaving as if’ is very important.
2. The organizational culture determines behaviours.
3. For the success of a change an organization shall take into consideration the underwater factors, such as beliefs, values, thoughts, feelings, assumptions, fears and needs.
4. What gets measured and rewarded, gets done!
5. Rethink the space – the space should get more flexible, agile for people using it.
6. Future workspace is the optimized and automated physical space
7. Work with the clients is about listening, learning, and acting.
8. IT solutions should be easy, fast, reliable, and unified, especially in a hybrid working mode.
9. The Facilities, IT, Communication and HR functions are the ones to collaborate together for the success of a workspace project.
10. The future of work is about finding an answer to the questions - How we work? When and where we work? With whom? For whom?

Workplace is not the synonym to the workspace. The workspace is a physical space where the workplace serves a human as a tool or enabler to perform his/her duties assigned by a company.

The workspace isn’t something we enter, it’s something we create! 🙌
