At its kick‑off meeting in Riga, Latvia, the strategic project outlined activities for this summer and the year ahead to strengthen resilience in the Latvia-Lithuania border region in the event of a crisis 🤝🚑

🌱 Investing in Young Minds: Comes to a Close.

This month marks the conclusion of two years of cross‑border cooperation within the project .

Together with the municipalities of Bauska (LV), Pakruojis (LT), and Biržai (LT), the Zemgale Planning Region has made a lasting investment in the development of the regional STEAM ecosystem.

🎯 What did they achieve?
👩‍🏫 Teachers and education experts gained practical ideas for integrating STEAM through study visits, peer exchange, and hands‑on experience with modern technologies.

🧪 Students explored science in laboratories, tested technologies, joined a joint STEAM summer camp, and competed in robotics challenges in Bauska.

🏢 Visits to companies in Zemgale and Northern Lithuania helped students see how classroom knowledge turns into real products and future careers.

💻 To ensure long‑term impact, schools were equipped with ClassVR systems, smart boards, computers, robotics kits, and science equipment.

💡 has strengthened skills, inspiration, and cooperation — laying a solid foundation for future‑ready education in the region.

🌳Hidden Green Heritage, Discovered Together.

Partners of project are working together to discover, map, and protect tree avenues in Kurzeme and Northern Lithuania - important green corridors that support biodiversity, landscapes, and cultural heritage across borders.

🌿 Why does it matter?
Tree avenues are much more than scenic roadsides. They:
- act as biodiversity corridors 🦉🐞
- preserve cultural and historical identity 🏛️
- strengthen landscape quality and climate resilience 🌱🌬️

Every report submitted by citizens helps build a shared cross-border database and supports long-term conservation of these valuable green elements.
