Boutsen Aviation is delighted to announce the successful sale of two Cessna Citation CJ1s! Two aircraft, two new chapters, and one shared commitment to bringing buyers and sellers together with confidence,
expertise, and care.

Proud to support Tommy Douillard on the world stage!

The 2026 World Aerobatic Championships in Mason City, USA, proved to be a particularly demanding edition, with challenging weather conditions and several technical setbacks throughout training and competition. Despite it all, Tommy kept pushing and giving everything in the air, competing alongside some of the very best aerobatic pilots in the world.

And there was plenty to celebrate: Team France returns home World Champion, both individually and as a team.

At Boutsen Aviation, we are proud to have supported Tommy for many years and to stand alongside him through the highs, the challenges and everything that makes top-level sport so demanding.

Congratulations to Tommy and the entire French team. Now, eyes on the next chapter: the 2027 European Championships.

Behind the Deal: When the Aircraft Changes Hands

After the aircraft has been accepted, the transaction reaches its final and most decisive stage: Closing and Delivery.

Behind the apparent simplicity of handing over an aircraft lies a carefully coordinated process involving the buyer, seller, escrow agent, registries and other parties.

We coordinate this final stage, helping ensure that delivery arrangements, documentation, escrow requirements and the transfer of the aircraft are aligned.

Once the Delivery Certificate is signed and the funds are transferred through escrow, the risks and responsibilities move from seller to buyer, and the transaction is officially closed.

From the first discussion to the final signature, our role is to keep the process moving, anticipate the next step and make sure every detail is where it needs to be.

Because in aircraft sales, closing is not simply the end of the transaction. It is the moment everything comes together.

Behind the Deal: Where Every Detail Matters

A signed Aircraft Purchase Agreement is an important milestone. But it is not the finish line.

The Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) is one of the most critical stages of any aircraft transaction. Conducted by an independent inspection center, it verifies the aircraft’s technical condition, maintenance history, documentation and overall airworthiness before ownership changes hands.

As brokers, we supervise the process on behalf of our clients.

From scheduling the inspection and liaising with the facility to guiding buyers and sellers through the findings, we ensure every step is managed efficiently and transparently.

Our role is to anticipate issues, facilitate communication and keep the transaction moving forward with clarity and confidence.

A successful aircraft transaction depends not only on what is inspected, but on how the process is managed.

Behind the Deal: Where an Aircraft Transaction Really Begins

Negotiations, contracts and closing often receive the most attention. Yet one of the most decisive stages takes place much earlier: the visual inspection.

It is where an aircraft moves from a presentation or technical specification to a tangible reality.

Whether representing a seller or assisting a buyer, the Boutsen Aviation team coordinates and supervises the inspection process, assessing the aircraft in person, documenting relevant findings and providing clear, objective feedback.

Visual inspections create transparency, build confidence and help determine whether a transaction should move forward.

It’s been an exciting season so far for Tommy Douillard , the talented aerobatic pilot we have been proud to support for years.

This summer, Tommy has been selected for the 2026 French National Aerobatic Team, after securing an impressive 3rd place at the French Open in Niort.

The next challenge for him is an even bigger one: from August 10th to September 4th, he will be representing France at the World Aerobatic Championships in Iowa Falls, USA.

We’re proud to stand alongside Tommy on this incredible journey and wish him the very best as he takes on the world’s best pilots!
