Macedonia and Kazakhstan will increase trade and cooperate more closely after signing two bilateral agreements to increase trade and attract new investments. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries, Timcho Mucunski and Arkan Shakaliev, marked the beginning of the cooperation that has been prepared for the last three months with a series of activities for the economic rapprochement of the two countries and consideration of opportunities for cooperation.
"Creating a predictable future, a competitive business climate and attracting foreign investment remains the top priority of the Government. In this regard, Kazakhstan, as a major producer of energy and fertilizers, has full capacity to supply Macedonia with these raw materials, and in return, Macedonian companies will have the opportunity to export traditional products to the local market, but also to engage in joint projects in the field of computer engineering, say the Economic Chamber of Macedonia.
"To enhance this cooperation, businessmen from both countries, with the support of the Governments, signed two bilateral agreements for increased trade in several sectors and for providing support and technologies for business development.

By signing the two bilateral agreements for increased trade in several sectors and for providing support and technologies for business development, according to Antoni Peshev, Executive Director of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia has an excellent position to be a regional center for supplying Southeast Europe with Kazakh products, but also vice versa, for European products to be found in the Eurasian country. According to the business community, Kazakhstan can cooperate more closely with our country, as Turkey does, which has large investments in the country. What we need is access to new markets. Macedonia cannot survive with such a small market as the Macedonian one. So exporting is something we have to do.
Macedonia must get used to large markets because that is something that is our future, if we want to remain in the world economy, said Antoni Peshev, Executive Director of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia.
The cooperation will be confirmed at the next Macedonian-Kazakh business forum which will be held in Astana. There, the sectors for trade cooperation between the two countries will be specified.
