Union of Myanmar Travel Association - UMTA was formed under the supervision of the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism in year 2002 and is the principal association formed with the expressed purpose of organizing the private sector travel agencies, tour operators and travel related businesses in the promotion of Myanmar as a premier travel destination. Working under the guidance of the Ministry of Hotels & Tourism, UMTA is responsible also for the comprehensive and systematic development of the tourism-related sectors in Myanmar. It aims to achieve this by inviting all registered travel agencies, tour operators and all other travel related businesses to become members, facilitating contacts with and establish friendly relations with international NGOs and other professional organizations, disseminating modern methods of tourism management, assisting tour operators to enhance their operational and professional standards etc.

🤝 The 4th Meeting of the BIMSTEC Network of Tour Operators (BNTO) was hosted by Sri Lanka from 21–23 July 2026. The Union Of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) was represented by Mr Kyaw Win Tun ( Secretary-General), and Mr Ye Win, Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the Tourism Promotion & Marketing Committee, as part of the Myanmar delegation.

🤝 During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail opportunities for greater cooperation among BIMSTEC member countries, including the development of a “One Destination” concept, collaboration among countries through working committees, joint tourism marketing and promotion initiatives, and other areas of mutual benefit and cooperation.

UMTA Members’ Fam Trip to Vietnam

♦️ A Low-Cost Shared Fam Trip to Vietnam, jointly organized and arranged by Visit Indochina, Vietnam, and the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA), was successfully undertaken by 58 representatives from UMTA member companies on 15 August 2026.

UMTA Representative Attends Press Conference for “Tastes of the Golden Land 2026 (Mandalay)”

The Myanmar Traditional Food Exhibition and Competition “Tastes of the Golden Land 2026 (Mandalay)” will be held on 22 and 23 August 2026 at the Mandalay MCC Hall.

The event aims to contribute to the development of the tourism industry through Myanmar’s traditional cuisine and to provide an opportunity for visitors to experience a wide variety of high-quality, internationally competitive traditional foods from different regions of Myanmar in one place.

A pre-event press conference for “Tastes of the Golden Land 2026 (Mandalay)” was organized at Hotel Hazel on 12 August 2026.

At the press conference, U Kyaw Myo Htike, Chairman of the Mandalay Zone of the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA), attended as a representative of UMTA. He shared information about the purpose and significance of the event and responded to questions raised by members of the media.

On 13 August 2026 at 3:30 PM, the Embassy of Malaysia hosted an event entitled “Celebrating A New Era of Healthcare Collaboration” at the Novotel Hotel.

On 28 July 2026, the Myanmar–Japan Business Forum was held at the Myanmar Convention Centre (MCC) with the aim of further strengthening the friendship and bilateral relations between Myanmar and Japan, while accelerating efforts to promote comprehensive socio-economic development in Myanmar.

The forum was attended by UMTA President U Kyaw Zayya and Secretary-General U Kyaw Win Tun. Their participation provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for creating greater opportunities for the development of Myanmar’s tourism sector through enhanced bilateral cooperation between Myanmar and Japan.

🤝 On 7 August 2026 at 4:30 PM, a delegation from AIMS Immigration & Relocation Specialist, Singapore, paid a visit to the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) for a meeting.

🤝 The delegation was warmly welcomed by U Kyaw Win Tun, Secretary-General of UMTA; U Ye Win, Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the Tourism Promotion and Marketing Committee; U Than Zaw Lwin, Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the MSME Committee; and U Thein Shwe, Executive Committee Member and Chairman of the Airline Committee.

🤝 During the meeting, both sides discussed potential opportunities for cooperation between UMTA and AIMS to promote the interests of UMTA members. Courtesy Meeting with the Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture by the Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 Term

On 3 July 2026, the Executive Committee members who will serve during the 2026–2028 term paid a courtesy call on the Union Minister at the Ministry of Hotels, Tourism and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw.

The delegation was led by Chairman U Kyaw Zeya and included Vice Chairperson (1) Daw May Thet Lwin, Vice Chairman (2) U Naung Naung Han, General Secretary U Kyaw Win Tun, Joint Secretary (1) Daw Chaw Chaw Kyi Mon, Joint Secretary (2) Daw Hnin Wut Yi, Treasurer U Zaw Zaw Aung, Joint Treasurer (1) Daw Thazin, Executive Committee Members U Tun Oo and U Than Zaw Lwin, Nay Pyi Taw Zone Chairman U Thein Htwe, and Mandalay Zone Chairman U Kyaw Myo Htike.

During the meeting, Chairman U Kyaw Zeya briefed the Union Minister on matters relating to the association and presented its future plans and priorities. Each Executive Committee member then introduced themselves and paid their respects to the Union Minister.

The Union Minister subsequently exchanged views with the delegation and discussed future initiatives and areas of cooperation between the Ministry and the Association.

၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် ဇူလိုင်လ (၁)ရက်နေ့ နံနက် ၁၀ နာရီ ၃၀ မိနစ်က ပြည်ထောင်စုသမ္မတမြန်မာနိုင်ငံခရီးသွားလုပ်ငန်းရှင်များအသင်းရုံးခန်း တွင် ၂၀၂၆-၂၀၂၈ ခုနှစ် အလုပ်အမှုဆောင်အဖွဲ့၏ အစည်းအဝေး(၁/၂၀၂၆-၂၀၂၈)အား ကျင်းပပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ရာ ဥက္ကဌနှင့် အလုပ်အမှုဆောင်အဖွဲ့ဝင်များ တက်ရောက်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။
အစည်းအဝေးတွင်အစီအစဉ်အရ ဥက္ကဌက အဖွင့်အမှာစကားပြောကြားခဲ့ပီး အသင်းဝင်အသစ်နှင့် နှစ်စဉ်ကြေး ရရှိမှုအခြေအနေကို အထွေထွေအတွင်းရေးမှူးက တင်ပြခဲ့ပါသည်။ ထို့နောက် အသင်း၏ ဘဏ္ဍာရေးအခြေ အနေကို ဘဏ္ဍာရေးမှူးက ရှင်းလင်းတင်ပြခဲ့ပါသည်။
ဆက်လက်ပြီး အလုပ်အမှုဆောင်အစည်းအဝေး ဆုံးဖြတ်ချက်များ ဆောင်ရွက်ဆဲ/ဆောင်ရွက်ပီးစီးမှုအခြေ အနေများအား အမှုဆောင်အရာရှိက ဖတ်ကြားတင်ပြခဲ့ပါသည်။
ထို့နောက် အလုပ်အမှုဆောင်များ၏ ရှေ့လုပ်ငန်းအစီအစဉ်များကို ချမှတ်ခြင်း၊ ဇုန်ဥက္ကဌများက တင်ပြ ဆွေးနွေးခြင်း၊ သက်ဆိုင်ရာကော်မတီဥက္ကဌများ တာဝန်ခွဲဝေခြင်းနှင့် ရုံးလုပ်ငန်းကိစ္စရပ်များအား ညှိနှိုင်းဆွေး နွေးခဲ့ကြပီး အစည်းအဝေးကို ညနေ (၅)နာရီတွင် ရုပ်သိမ်းခဲ့ပါသည်။

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar Tourism Association Holds the 1st Executive Committee Meeting (2026–2028 Term)

On 1 July 2026 at 10:30 am the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Tourism Association held its 1st Executive Committee Meeting (1/2026–2028) at the Association's office. The meeting was attended by the Chairman and Executive Committee members for the 2026–2028 term.

In accordance with the meeting agenda, the Chairman delivered the opening remarks. The General Secretary then presented a report on the status of new membership applications and annual membership fee collections. This was followed by the Treasurer's presentation on the Association's financial status.

The Executive Officer subsequently reported on the implementation progress and completion status of resolutions adopted at previous Executive Committee meetings.

The Executive Committee also discussed and established its future work plans, received reports and recommendations from the Zone Chairpersons, assigned responsibilities to the respective Committee Chairpersons, and coordinated various administrative matters of the Association.

The meeting concluded at 5:00 p.m.
