Thank you to everyone who participated in our quarterly logistics briefing last week Thursday. We hope the session provided valuable insights into Myanmar’s logistics landscape in Q4 and the potential improvements anticipated in the first few weeks of Q1. Our industrial experts, Simon Howett, Chief Growth Officer & Regional CEO, U Aung Sithu, Chief Operating Officer, and Swe Lei Mu, Business Development Manager delivered the presentation in both Myanmar and English, making the discussion more engaging and comprehensive.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Ian Fox, CEO of the British Chamber of Commerce Myanmar, and their team for hosting the event and contributing to its success.
For those who were unable to attend, here are the key takeaways from the session:
📌 Trucking costs rose due to the corn season, fuel shortages, additional fees, and backhaul challenges in Q4.
📌 Lead times have improved now that the rainy season has ended.
📌 The Myawaddy border remains problematic, but there is potential for improvements in Lashio leading to Muse border.
📌 The MACCS online payment system was launched in Myawaddy and Tachileik on January 1, 2025.
📌 Duties and taxes have increased due to the CBM-to-market rate adjustment.
We look forward to updating key developments in the logistics sector in our next briefing, tentatively scheduled for April. So, we encourage you to follow our page for more logistic insights and update of our ongoing operations.
