Sentinel Atlas, formerly SMS Security Consultancy Ltd., is a private security & safety services provider and consulting firm, operating mainly in North Africa and gradually expanding its activities in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. Through partnerships built over the years, Sentinel Atlas can provide a broad range of tailored security and safety services, making it the preferred choice for European diplomatic representations, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations as well as major corporations. Our head office is based in Malta, from where we carry our back-office & consulting activities.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated International Liaison Officer to strengthen our team of operational security consultants specialized on the North African region. This 6-month position is a good opportunity for acquiring a great experience in the sector and, upon performance, it is considered as a trial period leading to a longer contract. Thus, willingness to engage for more than 6 months and to accept geographical mobility are prerequisites of the successful candidate.
➖ RESPONSIBILITIES
The International Liaison Officer is part of the Operations Department, in charge of coordinating logistical issues, drafting contractual documentation, drafting technical and financial offers as well as any administrative tasks needed. The documentation drafted by our International Liaison Officer is kept confidential and is only distributed to our Senior Advisors and upon clients’ request. The main responsibilities are as follows:
> Remote assistance to Sentinel field-deployed personnel in the frame of:
- Punctual assignments (tracking, preparation of mission, etc.);
- Long-term assignments (coordination of strategic documentation, support on logistics and operational daily needs and requirements, etc.).
> Acting as the focal point of contact between Sentinel HQ staff, international providers and Sentinel field-deployed staff.
➖ SPECIFIC TASKS
> Supporting Sentinel field-staff for punctual assignments by:
-Supporting concerned Desk Officer in development of financial report, mission expenses, contractual frameworks and field expenses report;
- Supporting installation, coordination and supervision of tracking systems;
-Providing support for mission-related logistics (air transfers, accommodation, equipment, etc.), being the main point of contact with Sentinel’s financial department;
-Supporting in establishing pre-assignment mission orders and post-assignments operational and financial reports.
> Supporting Sentinel field-staff on a daily basis by:
- Ensuring tracking of field-related expenses and financial topics;
- Drafting and updating standard operating procedures and instructions;
- Drafting commercial & marketing offers;
- Update and maintain Sentinel’s documentation database.
> Participating in customer support and Company representation by:
- Being the client’s external point of contact during and after missions;
- Accompanying Operations Department staff during external meetings;
- Clients prospection
➖ CANDIDATE’S PROFILE
EDUCATION
> You are eligible to work in the European Union;
> You have a Master’s degree in security or any related topic (e.g., international relations) with a focus on security issues, especially on the MENA region. A degree in business-related fields is also an asset;
> You have an excellent mastery of English & French (C1 min). Arabic is an asset;
> You have a good knowledge of MS Office pack (especially Excel, Publisher);
> You also have a good knowledge of North Africa and Arabic Peninsula countries (asset).
➖ EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
> You already have a first professional experience in a high-paced environment, possibly related to security and/or risk management (asset but not mandatory);
> You have a very strong sense of commitment, and willing to challenge yourself, used to
teamwork and to take responsibilities;
> You are organised and used to follow at the same time multiple projects even while being under pressure;
> You are detail-oriented, and would be keen to suggest improvements and innovations;
> You are able to show a high degree of flexibility and mobility in working life.
➖ CONTRACT
> 6-month contract with an option for extension upon performance.
> Main location of assignment: Malta and North Africa;
> Regular punctual assignments in MENA regions countries;
> Deployment in high-paced environment in the mid/long-term;
> Willingness to accept field-deployment is a requisite.
