🌍 On June 26, ISDI Group proudly participated in the Final Conference of WINBLUE-project – Empowering Women and Mainstreaming Gender Equality in the Blue Economy, held in Brussels 🇪🇺.
It was a day rich in ideas, exchange, and collaboration, bringing together project partners, experts, and institutions committed to making the blue economy more inclusive, sustainable, and gender-equal.
💡 Throughout the conference, we explored:
🔹 Data and research on gender dynamics in maritime sectors
🔹 Inspiring good practices collected across Europe
🔹 Practical tools developed within WINBLUE – from Gender Equality Plans to training and coaching resources
🔹 Future collaboration opportunities through a strong and growing network

On June 1st, ISDI Group proudly co-organized the 5th International Workshop on Marine Litter Monitoring, Removal and Blue Circular Economy, held at the iconic Arsenale of Venice as part of the Venice Boat Show and the official programme of EU Green Week 2025.
Together with Venice Lagoon Plastic Free and key EU-funded projects like WINBLUE-project, REMEDIES, SeaClear2.0, JOINABLE and INSPIRE, the event showcased cutting-edge innovations and regional solutions in the fight against marine litter.

💡 A special focus was given to gender equality and inclusive blue growth, with WINBLUE leading the way:
🔹 EUKNOW shared inspiring Success Stories of Women in the Blue Economy
🔹 BIOCHICA presented sustainable polymers from invasive blue crabs
🔹 Gender-balanced innovation and start-ups from Malta and beyond made an impact

Thanks to all partners and speakers who contributed to this important dialogue on sustainability and inclusion in the Blue Economy.

Last week, together with AcrossLimits, we hosted the Networking Event for Malta’s Blue Economy Stakeholders at The Brewhouse in Birkirkara. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with insights, idea exchanges, and valuable connections in the Blue Economy sector!

The WINBLUE-Empowering Women and Mainstreaming GE in the Blue Economy is inviting Maltese organizations working in the blue economy, including tourism, for free training that is aimed at helping them become a more inclusive workplace.
This training introduces the basics of gender equality, the need for Gender Equality Plans, and guidance for creating a Gender Equality Strategy. It also covers practical strategies for workplace equity and provides opportunities for networking with other stakeholders.

We shared progress on the models for the Gender Equality Plan, explored our participation in the upcoming European Maritime Day (EMD), and covered much more! The results of our latest activities were presented, and the next steps were outlined. Exciting developments ahead as we continue to make impactful progress! 💡

We are pleased to report that the recent workshop on Gender Equality Plans for Entities in Coastal and Maritime Tourism, part of the WINBLUE project, was a great success. Held on July 18, 2024, at the La Vallette Club Conference Room in Malta, the event provided valuable insights and practical solutions for promoting gender equality in the sector.

The workshop featured productive discussions in a co-creation space, allowing participants to address key issues collaboratively

🌟 Workshop Recap: WINBLUE Project 🌟

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the 2nd Co-creation Workshop of the WINBLUE-project in Rome, titled "What Gender Equality Plans in the Blue Economy for the Cutting-Edge Technologies?". The event brought together industry leaders and passionate participants to explore and discuss innovative solutions for promoting gender balance in cutting-edge technologies.
We delved into critical topics such as:
• Challenges in achieving gender equality in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
• The importance of work-life balance.
• Overcoming biases in corporate cultures.
The event was organized in a hybrid format, allowing various stakeholders to join remotely from abroad, making it a truly inclusive and collaborative experience.

We are grateful for the enthusiastic participation and valuable contributions from everyone involved. Together, we are making strides towards a more inclusive and balanced blue economy.
