Assistant to the Manager in the Environmental Department
Making part of the Green Skip Team the company expects you to carry out your duties in a professional manner and in the best interest of the company. Following is a description of the main duties required for the position, for which this post is responsible for.

Job overview and essential functions:
The Role requires the person to be responsible to maintain accurate and up to date records as requested hereunder while maintaining good work relations with both management and employees. The role requires constant monitoring and updating of methods and procedures and at times liaising with clients and / or third parties for certain requirements or information to ensure processes are constantly controlled improved and in line with all legislation requirements.
The role requires the individual to be a self-starter and able to work both independently and in teams.
Some essential duties include:
• Set up a system to manage records and ensure compliance with ERA record requirements.
• Ensure all export permits are in line with requirements and apply for new permits when required .
• Assist , liaise with Hazardous waste personnel and with the yard Supervisor to ensure continuity of set standards / work methods and assist with any changes that may be required as advised by ERA , foreign Facilities or company management.
• Work on maintaining facility permits and monitor compliance for IPPC .
• Work independently and with the manager responsible to assist in the required policy permitting applications and liaise with the concerned personal or entities to ensure all permit requirements are being met and applications updated as necessary.
• Maintain and update as required client information data .
• Define a process for customer relationship operations and set up a customer relationship management system to control such process.
• Set up an inventory management system to control salable products and material from yard ensuring General Manager / Directors and Sales Personnel are aware of stock movements and quantities.
• Assist the manager with off site visits to clients premises when required for sales and/ or work methodologies or new waste management operations.
• Assist in tender preparation when requested to do so.
• Carry out spot checks of incoming and outgoing works, inform management re any abnormalities noted both when inspecting on site or off site.
• Communicate with the concerned department manager / supervisor to improve work methods.
• Communicate and cooperate with H&S officer and HR personnel as and when required.
• Assist in the preparation of export documents when required, and that all documents are completed accurately.
• Assist and take part in the training of staff and upgrading in the training methodology liaising with HR or Management.
• Update and amend SOP according to company requirements.
• Assist the sales team with promotional marketing of saleable material in yard for reuse or processing.
• Keep direct contact and communication with the General Manager and Directors.
Additional
The employee is expected to undergo Wastes management training, in house or otherwise, as required by the companies’ needs, at the company’s expense. This training shall be held as ‘expense due to the company’, and is liable to reimburse part of the training expense, should the employee decide to leave his employment with the company before a period of 3 years.
Separate agreements will be drafted for any training course when the need arises .
