The 1960s 📸: Pictured alongside his two nieces, Rose Hili (left) and Adelaide Gaglione (right), together with Rose’s children, Carmelo Caruana created a legacy! Following Carmelo’s passing in 1972, Rose’s sons took over the business. Their first office was at Number 12 Barriera Wharf in Valletta before relocating to Number 16.

Over the years, the Hili brothers diversified into port management, engineering, and introduced the McDonald’s brand to Malta.

Today, Melo Hili leads Hili Ventures, a multi-disciplinary group in 11 countries, boasting a team of 11,000+ people. Carmelo Caruana Company forms part of Breakwater Investments, the engineering, shipping & logistics and oil & gas arm of the business.
