There is no doubt that this new powersailor is pleasing to the eye. Not only that, it's a delight to sail. It points high for a yacht carrying a swing keel and water ballast and it will carry full sail up to 20 knots if the optional fixed lead ballast is fitted. (Total Ballast swing keel 65 kg , fixed ballast 165 kg , Water Ballast 750L).

The transition from sail to power is easy. The boat is stable, dry and comfortable and when planning it tops 24 knots using a 115hp outboard motor, while a 90hp outboard will allow a planning speed of 20 knots.

The boat has a large roomy interior with 6 foot headroom. There's a good size V- berth forward with a transverse king size double berth aft. Lots of saloon space with centre table and the head is enclosed. The boat can be equipped with a number of comfortable accessories including a stove, fridge and other apliances and has loads of interior storage space.

The cockpit is uncluttered with access to large storage lockers and the transom door opens to an aft deck swim platform. The platform incorporates a transom shower (optional) and handy boarding ladder. The side decks are totally uncluttered making movement around the boat and access to the foredeck very easy.

With the keel up the boat has just 30cm of draft, ideal for shallow water and can be beached making it possible to walk ashore. With a beam of 2.5m it is able to be towed legally and has a loaded weight of 2500kg on a trailer which includes the biggest recommended engine.

The boat is built in Poland by a German owned company using traditional German quality control. The small traditional builder pays much attention to detail and is able to customize interiors to personal requirements. Established in 1994 over 200 Imexus 28 powersailors have been built for the European and US markets, Australia and now available in Malta through A&N Yacht and Boat Imports.

In Summary the Imexus 28 is a very versatile craft that does everything it was designed to do well. Exhilarating and convenient to drive and a pleasure to sail even to the point of club racing or coastal cruising. A yacht of substance with superb quality of finish.
