A bit of friendly competition, great team spirit and a cause worth coming together for. ⚽🏆

Our annual AX Group Football Tournament brought colleagues together for a fun evening on the pitch, all in aid of AX Foundation. A big congratulations to AX ODYCY Hotel, who came out on top and took home the trophy! 🏆🎉

The evening also included a heartfelt moment of silence in memory of an AX Construction colleague who sadly passed away last June and who had received support from AX Foundation during a difficult time.

As part of the tournament, participating players contributed donations towards AX Foundation, the charitable arm of AX Group, which were presented to Joseph Borg, Deputy Chairperson of AX Foundation.

A big well done to everyone who took part and helped make the evening a success! 👏

Work is now progressing behind the scenes on the conservation of Mattia Preti’s altarpiece; The Liberation of Saint Peter at the Jesuits’ Church in Valletta.

With the painting now accessible, preliminary studies are being carried out on site to better understand its materials, condition and conservation requirements ahead of the next stages of intervention.

These investigations are an essential part of the conservation process, helping specialists determine the most appropriate approach to safeguard the artwork for future generations.

AX Group is proud to support the conservation of this important work as part of its sponsorship of the Mattia Preti project at the Jesuits’ Church.

This morning, Prof. Keith Sciberras, Prof. Nicholas Doublet and Chiara Galea had the pleasure of studying at close quarters the titular painting of the Rosselli-Massa Chapel, Mattia Preti’s Liberation of Saint Peter, as the canvas has been lowered in preparation for its conservation.

The conservation of the painting will be undertaken by the conservation team of the St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation, with the conservation of the artworks in the chapel generously sponsored by AX Group.

The Rosselli-Massa Chapel is currently being studied as part of the Collegium Melitense Research Project, led by the two University of Malta academics through a joint committee between the University of Malta Valletta Campus and the Jesuits’ Church Foundation.

A privilege to study, conserve and transmit this heritage to future generations.
