The European Commission has launched a call for evidence on the establishment of an EU Critical Raw Materials Centre, as part of the RESourceEU Action Plan and the Commission’s 2026 Work Programme.

Critical Raw Materials are essential for Europe’s manufacturing base, particularly within green, digital and aerospace industries. With the EU heavily reliant on imported raw materials, the new Centre aims to strengthen resilience, reduce supply chain dependencies and safeguard Europe’s industrial competitiveness and strategic autonomy.

The Centre will focus on four key areas: joint purchasing, stockpiling, investments and raw materials intelligence, helping secure a sustainable supply of critical raw materials for industry.Stakeholders, academia, industrial companies and SMEs are invited to submit feedback by 29 July 2026 through the below link.
