From installation to integration — the next phase is taking shape.

Following the successful delivery and installation of the 120MVAr shunt reactor and 250MVA autotransformer, works at Magħtab are progressing into the critical connection phase of the Second Malta–Sicily Interconnector.

🔌 Cable termination between the shunt reactor and its circuit breakers is now in progress — another highly technical step bringing the equipment closer to full integration with the transmission infrastructure.

For AG Group, this is where years of engineering, manufacturing, testing and coordinated delivery come together on site.

The custom-designed autotransformer and shunt reactors for the Second Malta–Sicily Interconnector have now reached Malta and Sicily, where installation activities are underway.

Every phase of this journey — from concept and engineering to manufacturing, testing, logistics, and now installation — reflects the collaboration, expertise, and commitment behind one of Malta’s most strategic energy infrastructure projects.
