Today, we're stepping away from phones! Watch as we open a MacBook Pro 2020 M1 and remove the silicone-glued battery.

Apple uses industrial-strength adhesive to keep these batteries in place. Removing them requires patience, the right solvent, and plastic tools.

🛠️ WHAT YOU'LL SEE IN PART 1:

Apple secures the MacBook Pro M1 battery with strong silicone adhesive. You cannot just pull it out.

The correct method:

Apply 90%+ isopropyl alcohol along the battery edges

Wait 2-3 minutes for the alcohol to pe*****te the silicone

Use plastic tools to gently lift the battery cells one by one

Repeat alcohol application as needed

Never use metal tools – you will puncture the battery!

Why this works: Isopropyl alcohol dissolves silicone adhesive without damaging the battery or the aluminum case.
