Strengthening Diplomacy, Cooperation and Global Partnership
A commendable diplomatic engagement took place in New York during the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, where Maltaâs Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Dr Chris Fearne, met with H.E. Dr Khalilur Rahman, Foreign Minister of Bangladesh and President of the 81st UN General Assembly. The meeting included an exchange of views on multilateralism, dialogue and deeper cooperation among UN Member States.
At a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty and global challenges, the role of the United Nations and international cooperation remains essential. Malta has continued to emphasise peace, dialogue, respect for international law and practical cooperation in addressing challenges that affect countries and communities around the world.
Maltaâs Strategic Role
Located at the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta has an important position connecting Europe, North Africa and the wider Mediterranean region. Its international outlook and active engagement provide opportunities to strengthen cooperation across regions.
