“Now is the time to act”

MAFE President Mario Duca

During the MAFE organized seminar “The New Family Business Act: Its Implications and Effects” on the 18th November various presentations provided an overview on how the Family Business Act White Paper would affect Maltese family businesses on fiscal, tax and legal issues.

MAFE president Mario Duca pointed out that most family businesses do not give succession the importance it deserves even though that the lack of such planning may spell the demise of the enterprise during transitions. Therefore he welcomes the fact that once implemented the Family Business Act has the potential to increase the chances of survival for family businesses through succession phases.
