๐Ÿ’ป Strengthening the Gozo Business Chamberโ€™s Digital Capacity

The Gozo Business Chamber has invested in new ICT equipment to further strengthen its operational capacity and support its work both in Gozo and beyond.

The new equipment will provide greater flexibility and mobility, particularly when Chamber representatives participate in meetings and activities in Malta and abroad. It will also support the Chamberโ€™s day-to-day work and provide additional resources for volunteers and students undertaking placements with the Chamber.

This investment will enable the Chamber to continue strengthening its services, representation and engagement on behalf of the Gozitan business community. ๐Ÿค

This initiative is being supported by the Ministry for Gozoโ€™s NGO Scheme, a funding programme for Voluntary Organisations on the Island of Gozo.

This initiative reflects the views only of the author, and the Ministry for Gozo cannot be held responsible for the content or any use which may be made of the information contained therein.

The Gozo Business Chamber is pleased to launch this yearโ€™s edition of Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo, focusing on the theme:

๐ŸŒ Digital Solutions for a Smarter Island

This year, we are challenging young people to develop innovative, digital-based business ideas that respond to real issues affecting Gozo.

Participants are invited to explore solutions within three key areas:

๐Ÿ”น Accessibility - improving connectivity, mobility and access to services in Gozo;
๐Ÿ”น Ageing Population - supporting active, healthy and independent ageing through digital solutions;
๐Ÿ”น Youth Participation - creating new ways for young people to engage, participate and contribute to their communities.

The initiative is open to young people aged 16โ€“35 residing in the Maltese Islands. You do not need to be Gozitan, but your idea must have a clear and practical application to Gozo.

๐Ÿง  Participants will also have the opportunity to benefit from training, expert guidance and mentoring as they develop their ideas and prepare their pitch.

๐Ÿ† Shortlisted participants will present their proposals during the Youth4Entrepreneurship Gozo Final on Friday, 6 November 2026 at 19:00 before a panel of evaluators.

Whether you have an idea for an app, platform, digital service, AI-powered solution or another innovative concept that could make a positive difference to Gozo, we want to hear from you!

๐Ÿ“ขPreparatory workshops by Aฤกenzija ลปgฤงaลผagฤง will be conducted in the coming weeks. Further details on this and also how to apply can be found here https://gozobusinesschamber.org/event/youth4entrepreneurship-gozo-2026/

โšก Meeting with Minister Miriam Dalli

On Monday, 20 July 2026, a delegation from the Gozo Business Chamber met with the Minister for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour, Hon. Miriam Dalli.

The Chamber was represented by President Michael Galea, Vice President Joseph Borg, Vice President Perit Edward Scerri and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Borg.

The meeting focused on the importance of continuing to strengthen Gozoโ€™s energy, water and environmental infrastructure in a manner that supports the diversification of the Gozitan economy, new investment and higher-value employment opportunities.

The discussion also covered accessibility and the potential port electrification, the resilience of the energy supply, the green transition and Gozoโ€™s path towards climate neutrality. ๐ŸŒฑ

Against the backdrop of exceptionally high temperatures and increased demand for electricity, the meeting further highlighted the need for long-term planning, continued investment and resilient infrastructure capable of meeting Gozoโ€™s present and future needs.

The Gozo Business Chamber will continue to communicate the realities and priorities of Gozitan businesses and to work constructively with Government and the relevant entities so that Gozoโ€™s needs are reflected in the development and implementation of national policy.
