📢 On the 23rd of February 2022, the team was appointed to provide salvage and pollution control services to 3 fishing vessels, which ran aground near the shores of Pointe aux Sables and Bain des Dames.

➡️ The operations required the mobilization of 50 Polygreen local personnel and fisherman. The team was successful in preventing an under very challenging conditions. Polygreen Mauritius remains fully committed to protecting the marine environment of this beautiful island.

📢 The Ore Shandong, Chinese bulk carrier has been adrift near the shores of St. Brandon since the 16th March 2022. Fearing of a potential oil leak in the Mauritian waters, team, immediately after finishing the refloating of the third vessel at Bain Des Dames, has voluntarily dispatched P. to the area, in order to be stand-by to assist the tanker and provide prompt oil spill response. Luckily the vessel managed to restart their engines so it is now out of danger. ⚓️

📢 The FV MAAN YU FENG No 168 vessel arrived safely at the Taylor Smith dry dock in Port Louis as per the plan of the salvage team of Polygreen.

The refloating regarding the 3rd and last vessel was carried out on Friday, March 18th with success, after a 12-hour operation, by Polygreen’s salvage Team which ended up with the MAAN YU FENG No 168 being refloated and towed by Tug Boat Vasileios P. to Taylor Smith shipyard”

Operation carried out this Friday 18th March for a several hours.
No trace of oil spill was recorded since all oil was already pumped out of the vessels, weeks ago.

For the completion, extra and custom-made equipment was used during the last phase of operations.

Polygreen Salvage Team completes a competent task of refloating and redelivering to owners 3 fishing vessels after the cyclone, dated February 23rd, drove them aground in the Pointe Aux Sables and Bain des Dames.

As always, it was a collective team effort of the whole Polygreen team which includes local manpower and contractors working nonstop for the success of the completion of operations.

The booms are currently in place to contain any potential leakage. So far, there are no leaks from the vessels. IMO trained experts are working tirelessly to protect Mauritian waters and safely remove the 2 remaining wessels FV Maan YU Feng No1. and FV Maan Yu Feng 168 from the sand bank.

The priority of the experts of now, is to salvage the FV Maan Yu Feng No. 1 and the FV Maan Yu Feng No. 168 and protect the environment of any possible risk. On Sunday afternoon, they continue working hard managing this delicate operation.

The team at celebrate the successful salvage of Wen Hung Dear No.168 safely to Port Louis port. VASILEIOS P. managed to pivot the fishing vessel at Pointes-aux-Sable to the open sea. The delicate operation to get Wen Hung Dar 168 safely to shore lasted for more than 76 hours.

📢 On 24 February, was enlisted to respond to three grounded vessles located in Pointe aux Sables and Bain des Dames, . ➡️ Working alongside the authorities to protect the environment , Athanasios Polychronopoulos says, “Our experts are lending their full support to the authorities to contain any damage to the environment. Such an incident in our waters, demonstrates the importance of being regionally based and rightly equipped with anti-pollution infrastructure to react immediately to limit as much damage as possible in the ."
