💼 A Welcome Return to My Roots
Most of you know me for my daily work navigating the complex world of regulatory compliance. What many might not know, however, is that I am an economist by education, training, and at heart—with a specialisation in Monetary and Financial Economics. While regulation and compliance is my profession, economics remains the lens through which I view global structures. This event feels like a homecoming, and I am genuinely excited to step back into the macroeconomic arena to share my personal vision on a subject so close to home.

Tomorrow, I will be joining a phenomenal group of minds. Hosted by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the virtual forum brings together key policymakers from our Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, alongside economic experts from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the University of Mauritius (UoM).

🎯 My Take on the Challenge
Living and working in today's fragmented global economy, I see firsthand how critical it is for Mauritius to unlock scalable development financing while aggressively driving domestic productivity. It is a tough balancing act, but vital for our sustainable growth. I cannot wait to dive into the productivity study's key findings tomorrow and engage in a truly robust dialogue on how we can navigate these structural shifts.
