A few years ago, environmental risk simply didn't exist in our AML analytical frameworks.

Today, ecocide is a predicate offence for money laundering under Mauritian law. And credit committees financing environmentally exposed sectors without a structured assessment are carrying real legal exposure.

This isn't an ESG trend. It's black-letter law.

What I see, and what concerns me, is that many institutions have a well-crafted CSR policy, and an EWRA that doesn't mention ecocide once.

That gap is exactly what ESAAMLG 2027 will look for.
