In support of Pink October and the importance of breast cancer awareness, Omnicane Foundation is partnering with the Trois Boutiques community to support 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞, a run/walk event taking place on 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝟐𝟓 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

The event will start at 8:00 a.m. at Mon Trésor Business Gateway, following a route through the fields of Union Vale, and conclude at the Trois Boutiques Village Hall at approximately 9:00 a.m.

In addition, Breast Cancer Care (BCC) will conduct medical screenings at the Village Hall from 9:00 a.m. to noon, promoting awareness and the importance of early detection.

Through this initiative, Omnicane Foundation reaffirms its commitment to community engagement and initiatives that contribute to health and well-being.

We are proud to announce that Omnicane has been shortlisted for the Africa Sustainable Future Awards 2026 in the Manufacturing Champion category for our Carbon Burn-Out Project.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to resource efficiency, innovation and more sustainable industrial practices.

C’est avec peine qu’Omnicane a appris le décès du professeur Vinesh Hookoomsing.

Linguiste et figure majeure de la promotion et de la reconnaissance du créole mauricien et ancien pro-vice-chancelier de l’Université de Maurice, il a été le président du jury de l’Omnicane Award en 2019. Ce concours adressé aux jeunes collégiens était axé sur le rôle et l’importance du créole mauricien dans la promotion de la communication, l’éducation, l’intégration sociale et le développement économique de notre République.

À tous ceux dont ce deuil afflige, Omnicane présente ses sincères condoléances.

Des représentants de l’ambassade des États-Unis se sont rendus à nouveau à Omnicane, à Britannia, le vendredi 11 septembre 2026. Le groupe avait accueilli, en décembre 2025, l’événement annonçant le lancement du U.S.-Africa Business Summit, en présence du Premier ministre, l’honorabke Dr. Navin Ramgoolam, ainsi que d’autres personnalités. Le Sommet sera organisé conjointement par le Corporate Council on Africa et le gouvernement de la république Maurice au SVICC, à Pailles, du lundi 6 au mercredi 9 décembre 2026.

Queen Elizabeth College (QEC) wins the prestigious Omnicane Award 2026! 🏆
The results were officially announced during an official ceremony, in presence of H.E. Mr. Dharambeer Gokhool, G.C.S.K., President of the Republic of Mauritius, as well as Mr. Jimmy Tong Sam, Chairperson of the Board, and Mr. Jacques M. d’Unienville, G.O.S.K., CEO of Omnicane, and other distinguished guests, held at the Holiday Inn Mauritius Mon Trésor Hotel, Plaine Magnien, on Friday 25 September 2026.

The winning team, composed of Manshika Bacorisen, Daivya Moorghen, Justin Yim Lim, Tiaanah Sudiksha Bujun and Mohammed Fouad Nazeerally, each received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a commemorative shield. Mr. Sunil Sanjay Jagesar, Rector of QEC, received the Omnicane Award Challenge Trophy on behalf of the school.
We wish to congratulate the following runners-up teams:
- Royal College Curepipe - Team 50 (1st runner-up)
- SSS France Boyer de la Giroday - Team 39 (2nd runner-up)
On another note, we wish to acknowledge the other five teams that also made it to the final round namely:
• Queen Elizabeth College (Team 8)
• Royal Curepipe College (Team 27)
• Hindu Girls’ College (Team 49)
• Sir Leckraz Teelock SSS (Team 34)
• France Boyer de La Giroday SSS (Team 33)
With 250 participants from 28 secondary schools, this year’s competition explored the theme:
“At Omnicane’s 100-Year Milestone, what should be preserved and what must be rethought from this legacy? How can responsible, inclusive and sustainable innovation support and shape our common future?”
Congratulations to the winning team, and a heartfelt thank you to all participants for their commitment, creativity and engagement throughout the competition!

A century ago, on 15th September 1926, a journey began, rooted in Mauritius and deeply connected to the land.
Over the years, that journey has evolved; from our agricultural roots to an integrated and diversified group, driven by a constant desire to evolve, innovate and create lasting value.
