📌 Aider 10 000 jeunes de 18 ans à 35 ans ainsi que les femmes de plus de 50 ans à intégrer le marché de l’emploi. C’était l’objectif quand le Prime à l’emploi Scheme a été, pour la première fois, introduit via le Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022. Ce programme a ensuite été revu en faveur de toutes les femmes, quel que soit leur âge, ainsi qu’aux personnes en situation de handicap. Le dispositif prévoyait une allocation mensuelle de Rs 15 000 pour les employés à temps plein et Rs 7 500 pour les employés à temps partiel, pendant les deux premières années d’embauche. Cette mesure a, toutefois, fait les grands titres récemment.

En mai dernier, il a été reproché à Tomeshwarnath Avinash Ramlowat, directeur et actionnaire de plusieurs sociétés fictives, d'avoir escroqué Rs 31,9 millions à la Mauritius Revenue Authority en déposant des demandes frauduleuses pour 285 faux employés. D’autres cas similaires de détournement auraient également été dénoncés. Face à ces abus, le gouvernement a décidé de fermer le programme à toute nouvelle demande après le 5 juin 2025. Toutefois, les allocations continueront à être versées aux bénéficiaires déjà approuvés par la Mauritius Revenue Authority avant cette date.

The Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) informs eligible employers that the facility for the submission of Special Allowance 2024 return is now available on MRA website: https://www.mra.mu/eservices1/financial-assistance/special-allowance-2024

Eligible employers who have already applied to MRA to benefit from financial support for the payment of Special Allowance 2024, may submit the Special Allowance 2024 Return for the month of December 2024 providing details of employees and amount of Special Allowance paid.

After necessary verification, MRA will credit the amount of refund to which the employer is entitled in the bank account provided by him in his application.

To access the system, eligible employers are required to use their Employer Registration Number (ERN) and Password.

Where the payment of the Special Allowance is made in installments, employers are required to submit the Special Allowance 2024 returns in the month following that in which the Special Allowance is paid.

To benefit from this financial support, eligible employers are required to be compliant with the submission of their PAYE/Social Contribution returns and payment of the tax and Contribution.

Eligible employers are kindly requested to read the instructions and guidelines available on MRA website before submitting the Special Allowance 2024 Return.
