The MCCI has been recognised as an Export Support Delivery Partner, receiving a Certificate of Recognition from the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, in recognition of its role supporting UK exporters in Mauritius through the ESS International Markets Africa Network.

This follows the MCCI's participation in the Train the Trainer Programme, held from 7 to 9 September 2026 in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa, under the Africa British Chambers Capacity Building and HMG Engagement Programme. Mrs. Sarada Moothoosamy, Head of Finance & Management, represented the MCCI at the three-day event, which brought together British Chambers, delivery partners and UK Government stakeholders to strengthen Chamber capabilities and build a more connected business support network across Africa.

Sessions combined training, practical exercises and stakeholder engagement, covering the Export Support Service (ESS) International Markets Africa delivery model, client engagement, service standards, referral management, export finance, and market access and trade policy โ€” alongside a dedicated best-practice session with the British Chamber of Business in Southern Africa (BCBSA) on Chamber operations and member engagement.

Dr. Drishtysingh Ramdenee, Secretary General of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), intervened in The African Circuit: Mauritius Edition, held on Monday 14 September 2026 at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis, hosted by the Philanthropic Foundation. With the objective of facilitating co-investment opportunities, infrastructure finance, and strategic partnerships across Africa, the African Circuity aims to maximise off-record, high-quality interactions in each host city.

Dr. Ramdenee opened the conference programme with a presentation on the Sustainable Finance Framework, before moderating the first panel discussion, "Where Will Africa's Next $100 Billion Come From? The Investment Case for Climate, Infrastructure and Innovation."

The panel brought together perspectives from seasoned professionals across investment, ratings, project finance, life sciences, climate risk and sustainable finance, examining capital flows into Africa's climate, infrastructure and innovation opportunities, as well as the structures and risk-return considerations shaping the continent's next generation of investment opportunities.

The wider two-day programme addressed key themes around capital mobilisation, investment structuring, Mauritius as a fund domicile, private wealth and development finance, governance, and investment in cities and social infrastructure. Through Dr. Ramdenee's participation, the MCCI contributed to discussions on the role of Mauritius in facilitating investment into Africa and advancing sustainable finance, while engaging with international and regional stakeholders on opportunities for greater capital mobilisation and economic development.

On Monday 7 September 2026, the MCCI brought together members and representatives of bilateral Chambers of Commerce in Mauritius, CCIFM, the Indian Business Council (IBC), the Chinese Business Chamber, and the Belgian Mauritian Business Club, to look at the Budget 2026/27 and Finance Act 2026 as effects to track over time.

At the centre of the discussion: the Business Resilience Survey, MCCI's new pulse-check, already gathering responses from member companies.

As Secretary General Dr Drishtysingh Ramdenee put it: "The more businesses share their input with us, the better we can carry a genuine picture from the ground to government level and adjust our advocacy accordingly."

Businesses interested in taking part in the Business Resilience Survey are encouraged to reach out to the MCCI.
