🚨 IMPORTANT COMMUNIQUÉ | MRA TAX UPDATE
INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAX RETURNS 2026 – ADDITIONAL TIME GRANTED
In light of the recent events in Mauritius and the prevailing curfew restrictions, the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) has announced a special concession for individual taxpayers.
📅 Original statutory deadline: 15 October 2026
📅 Extended penalty-free filing period: Until Friday, 30 October 2026
✅ NO PENALTIES OR INTEREST
The MRA has confirmed that no penalties or interest will be imposed for late submission of individual income tax returns or late payment of tax, provided that:
✔️ The income tax return is submitted on or before 30 October 2026.
✔️ Any tax payable is settled by the same date.
Please note: The statutory deadline remains 15 October 2026. The MRA concession provides additional time for taxpayers to comply without incurring penalties or interest, subject to the above conditions.
