Fuel oil prices have risen by more than 57% since January 2026.
In its communiqué of 30 September 2026, the Central Electricity Board (CEB) highlighted the increasing pressure this is placing on electricity production costs, with the gap between the real cost of supplying electricity and current consumer tariffs continuing to widen.
