Notice to all Property Management Companies.

For all applications for a Tourist Accommodation Certificate for PDS/RES/IRS, it it mandatory that the Management Company is appointed by the holder of the PSD/RES/IRS Certificate.

So for TAC applications for all EDB Schemes, there are 3 parties involved:
- the owner
- the management company
- the holder of PDS/RES/IRS certificate

Management companies need to have a contract with the holder of PDS/RES/IRS certificate to do rentals for the owners, as stipulates in Regulations below:

Amendments to the Tourism Authority Act following the Finance Act 2025.

The Finance Bill 2025 makes provisions to amend the Tourism Authority Act with the introduction of a Tourist Fee.

We are waiting for confirmation on these measures with the Finance Act 2025, but below the provisions of the Bill.

All managers of Tourist Accommodation shall register with the Authorities and must submit monthly returns of the Fees collected. The “manager” is defined as the person responsible for the short-term rental of the property.

In essence, all Tourist Accommodations must have a Tourist Accommodation Certificate, as they will collect the Tourist Fee to submit to authorities.

The Bill also makes provisions for fines in case of non-compliance.
