HAPPY HR DAY !
I know I am late with this article but still I could not resist to post it today!
As it goes, "Better Late than Never" and this time I will stick to "I may be late, but it doesn't stop me from motivating people".
When we talk about the human resources, it is always about the people and today as an independent HR expert, I would like to address some points that we need to reflect on.
โญ When it comes to our family, we treat each member dearly. Even though each character is different, we accept them the way they are or work it out together to maintain the relationship and it goes like education starts at home, & HR starts at home as well because we are dealing with people! Eventually, in an organisation, this should be considered and know that when we are a working person, most of our time is spent with our co-workers. And HR people seems to be the best people to make the link between the management and the employees and ensure that there is a healthy environment prevailing. However, we need to consider one aspect: no one person is the same. We are all unique and I would lie if I say that we need to treat all the same. It is the outcome that needs to be for the best. A slight attention is always needed in different situation. It is not possible to treat everyone the same when character, behaviour, emotions differ.
โญ It often happens that when we have a particular case, we always hear about being fair to each party. Yes, we should, but we cannot apply the same solution to everyone because we do not always have the same issues with different person. So, why do we often use the same solution to all? Since people are unique, every solution can be unique as well. And this is a culture that needs to be instilled in organisation by treating each person on an individual basis.
โญ If we go by the book, we will implement policies, procedures, code of conduct, code of ethic and lots of other practices. Well, I am not against because it enables the organisation to sustain from a certain stability for it to operate effectively and efficiently. But what about the employees? Active listening is as important and do we have enough people in HR to listen to the people resources to help build the bridge between employee and management? ๐ค Sometimes, HR people feel stuck between employees and the management or employees feel they cannot knock at the door of the HR people, fear that the HR people will side up with the management and overall, it becomes demotivating to work in these conditions.
To conclude, HR people need to be able to work freely for them to demonstrate their capabilities and the management needs to trust their resources. Only then, there will be an improvement in people resources.
Also, considering independent HR experts from now and then to restructure your company can accelerate the change for a better working environment. Feel free to contact me on [email protected] for more advices.
