Responsible production means doing things with care, from using resources wisely to reducing waste. 🌿

At our winery, we collect rain water to wash our vats, use waste water for irrigation and compost solids to be used as fertiliser in our orchards and vegetable gardens. Some of the small, practical actions that guide how our wines are made every day.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming students from Vatel Mauritius - Hotel & Tourism Business School for a behind-the-scenes discovery of our winery. From exploring our artisanal approach to understanding how we craft our unique lychee wines, the visit was all about sharing our know-how and the story behind what we do.

We are incredibly proud to share that 𝗘𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀𝗲, our signature sweet white lychee wine, has been awarded a 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 at the 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗵𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🥇

This prestigious international competition is one of the most important tastings in the industry bringing together over 500 sommeliers, oenologists and enlightened amateurs, to taste and judge nearly 2150 wines from 23 different countries.

The Gold Medal is a strong mark of quality and excellence and a celebration of the passion, craftsmanship, and dedication behind every bottle produced at Takamaka Boutique Winery.

This medal is yet another testament that our lychee wine made in Mauritius stands shoulder to shoulder with the finest traditional wines across the world, proving that excellence knows no boundaries. ✨
