Rashu Plastic Project is a Maldivian local island initiative based in Vaavu, Felidhoo. Transforming plastic pollution into art, empowering our community, and fighting for a cleaner sustainable future.
We collect plastic waste that would otherwise be burned, buried, or enter the ocean, and transform it into handcrafted souvenirs and functional items designed for conscious travellers and responsible businesses.
Our work sits at the intersection of:
• Marine conservation
• Circular economy principles
• Community-led action
• Sustainable tourism
Each piece we create represents a second life for plastic, a meaningful story and a practical way for resorts and partners to engage guests in sustainability beyond signage and statements.
We believe real impact comes from:
✔ Local solutions to local waste
✔ Transparency over greenwashing
✔ Small-scale action that’s honest, visible, and educational
Rashu Plastic Project is still growing, learning, and evolving and we’re excited to connect with sustainability teams, resorts, and organisations who want to explore collaborations, workshops, or circular souvenir solutions or the amazing people who want to buy our products!
Thank you for being here at the start of our journey.
